Mountrail County Hospital receives $19,700 donation from Hess Corporation
STANLEY, N.D., May 6, 2015 – Hess Corporation (NYSE: HES) presented a $19,700 check to the Mountrail County Medical Center (MCMC) today for the purchase of a new portable X-ray machine for emergency and hospital use.
“The new portable X-ray machine will enable us to provide better care to more patients,” said Beth Venatta, radiologic technologist, Mountrail County Hospital, “and we appreciate Hess’s support and contribution to make this happen. The new machine will produce better images, have greater mobility, use less radiation, and due to its smaller size, be more accessible for patient rooms and trauma care.”
The hospital currently relies on a 35-year-old machine that is quite large, making it cumbersome and slow to move from patient to patient. The new machine will allow medical staff to diagnosis injuries at the patient’s bedside, eliminating patient discomfort created when moving him/her to the X-ray room.
“We are proud to support exceptional institutions like the Mountrail Count Medical Center who are truly making a positive difference in the region,” said Steve McNally, Hess general manager, North Dakota. “They are providing quality care to thousands throughout the region every year.”
Last year, Hess also contributed $20,000 to the hospital for the purchase of a new X-ray machine, which has become the anchor of the hospital’s radiologic diagnostics department.
“We value our partnership with Hess, which has been a strong supporter of our hospital and our community,” said Dr. Mark Longmuir, MCMC chief of staff. “With Hess’s latest contribution, our imaging capabilities will be significantly upgraded, which will improve our diagnostic abilities and ultimately means improved quality of patient care throughout the region.”
Health and safety are fundamental to the Hess culture and integral to its business. The company invests in high impact programs, especially in the areas of education, health and community development.
